Know that although we love our cricket in the West Indies, we also love life, - and so we look at and take part in every other area of the highway of life that we encounter. To become rounded and educated, all good standing West Indian, and moreso Guyanese, love to be knowledgable in all things especially our spiritual practices.
Do you just carry your empty cup to the water fountain, when a group of guys are having a discussion of the financial meltdown, while sipping from their gourd ?

Here is something to read Ryan - Keep reading this over and over until it becomes a belief and firmly entrenched in your consciousness.

i dont care about whose from which country, but can any1 tell me anything about adrian barath, i know hez young and supposedly super talented, i was just wondering with the joke the wi board made saying they expect players to have a fc average of over 40, they'd be hard pressed to find 6 batsmen in caribbean with that average lol, why adrian barath who basically fills that criteria hasnt been selected for the nz tour, would any of you guys know, and american, lets not dwell on the past to much, laraz my fav player but i certainly wouldnt rate him as a captain, and gayle hasnt done a worse job than his predecessors over the past 12 yrs so far

I understand the point that you're trying to make American, but i didn't realise that the selection of the team is solely the the responsibility of Chris Gayle. I'm just looking at the bigger picture here and to me, you can only choose amongst the squad that the selectors have picked in the first place.

Maybe they were abit hasty in choosing the squad for New Zealand and maybe they should've monitored how the relative newcomers were going to cope in the mini series against Pakistan. Thus far, with the exception of Lionel Baker, the others haven't travelled well, performance wise.

You made alot of valid points in regards to some of the players that should've been picked, but the way i see it, the boyz competed well in stages and had quite a few opportunities to win all three of those matches, but some of them made alot of basic errors, which was due to pressure. For the newcomers it was just a lack of experience at this level. I was more disappointed with the more experienced players, who failed to deliver when it mattered.

But I just don't see the point in playing the blame-game towards Gayle. Some of his decisions might of been questionable, but you can't argue that his batting led from the front. It was just three One Day matches at the end of the day. Let's hope that the selectors and Captain can learn from that experience and come back stronger for New Zealand.
