Lara is one of the best batsmen that cricket will ever see, tell me one batsmen to break a world record held by himself until M.Hadden broke it and Lara reclaims it to make the Aussies cry, he is the best, only to be born in the wrong era.

that would be "past" ? So, Lara makes roughly all the runs for the west indies during what was an admittedly dismal period for west indian cricket, but its His fault we couldn't win anything? as shane warne,(you may remeber him as a fat chap who spun it a bit. in the reviled past.) has pointed out, lara's feats are all the more amazing for having played with a bunch of lazy, untalented sods. i'd like to see what ponting or tendulkar would have achieved if they were carrying the burden of having to save the game evry bloody time, and knowing that your wicket is the only thing between victory and defeat.

go watch ozzy rules, or something, but please leave cricket to those with an appreciation for the game.

Lara a great player, a briliant captain, a record breaker, so much more we can say about him. we certainly can't say the same about Chris Gayle, Lara have played with Gayle over the years, and Gayle still didn't learn how to move his feet while bating. Lara is a genius when it comes to cricket. I hope the team continue to win and be sucessful under Gayle captaincy, when west indies lose a game they blame him just like they use to blame Lara. Gayle style of bating certainly can't be motivating for the young cricketers.

Lara is the best west indies player i haven seen, his strokes, his discipline and determination on the field, he time & time again win matches single handly, with no support on the other end. His 153 runs against Austriala was the best match for me. he have records to show his class and talent to the world. he brings such happiness to the game, when he is batting from the smallest child wants to see him. he bring out crowds over and over again. It was very sad to see him end his career just like that. It jus goes to show how much west indies board appreciate great players. I love the west indies team, but a lot of changes have to take place, before we move to being number one in the world again. LARA, HIS NAME WILL IN CRICKET FOR A VERY LONG TIME. I miss him on the field so much.

lara is the best batsman west indies ever produce ,many taught he was making a come back after palying for trinadad ,his place is still available ,cricket makes money when a man like him will be on field ,Gail does not looks like a smart captain ,his batting does not prove to test standard ,when he makes runs ,it looks like a one day match ,the best thing for him is to drop down the order

Hey American, When are you going to get it through your thick skull that Ganga doesn't belong in the West Indies team. Ramdin once again is overmatched when it comes to batting. He needs to be dropped. Here is his chance to prove he can bat and gave west indies a lead may be of 50 runs and he can't do it. A good balance is three fast bowlers and a quality spin bowler, Amit Jags. Playing eight or ten batsmen doesn't help west indies cause they don't make more than three hundred runs.
